Our vision is to create an environment where hurting teens can discover their value in Christ, grow in that knowledge, and then pass that knowledge on to others. We have been serving the West Michigan community since 1995, primarily in Allegan and Ottawa Counties.<\/p>\n

A teenage girl, alone.<\/p>\n
All around her is hopelessness, despair. Dead ends. Sadness so heavy, each step is a chore.<\/p>\n
Father committed suicide, caving in to the weight of shame from an adulterous affair resulting in a pregnancy, divorce, and then another child he could not parent.<\/p>\n
Mother\u2019s employment is this world\u2019s \u201coldest profession\u201d of prostitution.<\/p>\n
\u201cHome\u201d is a one room apartment above the bar where mom \u2018works\u2019.<\/p>\n
The teenager she\u2019s been dating \u2013 the one who swore he\u2019d love her forever \u2013 has just walked out of her life. It was tough enough discovering she was pregnant; the pain has been piercing since the revelation that \u2018her man\u2019 had also been dating her best friend. She, too, is pregnant.<\/p>\n
The man she had thought she might spend the rest of her life with chose to marry her best friend.<\/p>\n
He suggested maybe she should get an abortion. There wasn\u2019t much hope, really, for the child she carried.<\/p>\n
Something deep within her heart told her the child needed to be born. Instead of death for her child, she chose life. And I am so glad she did!<\/p>\n
That teenage girl was my mother.<\/p>\n
And she is my hero.<\/p>\n
